Evening sky.
In the frame is river Pazhayar meeting the Arabian sea and me standing on a place where Narayana Guru and Vaikunda Swamigal are believed to have meditated. This is the last hill of the mainland India and one would view the Vivekananda Rock and Thiruvalluvar statue from here.
Yet another overflowing pond. The recent rains have made all the ponds in the area full. It looks more lovely for a onlooker. But might not be the same for farmers. Most of the crops were under water. This is not supposed to be the rainy season.
A typical village in the Tirunelveli district. Take a closer look. The left hand side has a man made pond to save water during the time of the rain. Probably the only source to the pond is the rain itself. It didn't look like there is a stream feeding the pond. The next half of the frame is the farm land known as Nanjai. Land which is not self independent. It has to depend on the pond for its water. One even doesn't have a path to their piece of land. So if one has to bring in a tractor, it has to be done only after the neighbour has cleared his land. They survive as a community. And the next part of the pic is the small stretch of small houses. The pic was taken from a small hill nearby.
Rain clouds come floating in, not to muddy my days ahead, but to make me calm, happy and hopeful.
One of the seven sluice gate is opened to let the water out.
